Common names for bonsai size classes

Anciently, the size of a bonsai tree in its pot was measured in terms of how many men would be required to lift it and move it (especially around the Imperial Palace). An ‘Eight-hander’ would require the strength of eight men to relocate the tree and so on, down to fingertip size.
